Although this is a volunteer ensemble, we hold high standards for our spirit squad.

Our performance routines incorporate lyrical, thrash jazz, hip hop and GoGo.

Before the audition:

Cheerleaders and Dancers are stretched and ready to perform. This is an opportunity for cheerleaders and dancers to warm up and for dancers to hear the music .

During the audition:

Preliminary round: Spirit Squad hopefuls will be interviewed. Other squads may make this a final round event. However, we believe that it is better to save time and efforts and if you are not able to effectively communicate, then you will not be a good fit for this team.
Round 2: Those who sucessfully complete the preliminary round will proceed to round 2. Cheerleaders and Dancers enter groups of TBD and are introduced to the judging panel. Each group performs a 3-5 minute routine before the judges.

Requirements:

Cheerleaders must be energetic, an enthusiastic and an enthusiastic and vocal supporter. Dancers must be able to dance. Majority of your job is to perform cheer (cheerleading) and dance routines.
Be at least 21 years old. (18-20 year olds may be considered space permitting and with a parental consent form)
Be fit and in shape. Not required to maintain a certain weight ratio. However, you must be in shape enough to dance your way through auditions and then rehearsals if you make the team.
Be personable-Yes! Your personality counts. You are essentially representing the organization.
Have good showmanship-you will be judged on stage presence.
PGV cheerleaders and dancers aka the Velocity Spirit Squad are required to make at least 3 appearances and at least 2 promotional events in addition to an enthusiastic and vocal supporter ALL home games.
Auditions may be webcast. There will be a combination of the web votes and the judges score.
Bring a copy of your driver's license or valid state issued photo id, a resume, a bio ( no more than a paragraph 1.5 spacing in length), headshot, full body shot and dance shoes or sneakers. Dress to impress!
Will consist of interview, and small group dance.
No jewelry or body piercings.
No over exposed cleavage. No over exposed buttocks.
No food or gum.
Overall clean, mature presentation
Stage/game ready/TV ready make up

Additionally:

2 rehearsals per week.
Dancers/cheerleaders are encouraged to maintain a workout regimen.
Cheerleaders and dancers will perform at all home games! Performances may include our fight song, drum cadences.
Only 3 excused absences per season. Excessive absences will cause you to be removed from the team.
Must sign a non-compete agreement
Fan mail can be sent to the team.
There is absolutely no fraternizing with the players.
Required to maintain the proper designated uniform.

Those who make the team will be announced via our website at a later date after auditions.
