Our Mission:

Prince George's County (PG County) is known as the most affluent and successful majority African American county in the USA.

In continuing with that history our mission is to continue the historical and economic legacy of the county while providing an opportunity to have athletes who are ideally residents of the county to have an opportunity to learn new talents, grow and expand current talents; with the opportunity to possibly go to the next level.

We encourage our players to respect the game and the game will respect them.

Our program is based around opportunity and developing each player's physical and mental skills and abilities, as well as individual skills and character.

The PG Valor Basketball Team has partnered with the UPDRAFT Scholarship Fund a 501 (c) (3).

The PG Valor Basketball Team is an expansion team beginning in the 2016-17 ABA basketball season. We will play 30 games a season with 15 home games and 15 away games within the Mid Atlantic division and possibly out of division games within fiscal and physical reason.

History

The PG Valor Basketball Team was established in 2015, by Prince George's County Native LaDonna M. Smith, after she followed the voice of God while watching the NBA Play Offs.

Ms. Smith had previously assisted the owner of the former Baltimore Pearls Basketball Team with marketing and development. However, after the owner was unable to maintain the team's financial obligations, the team was no longer in existence. LaDonna tried diligently to reach the owner to inquire about acquiring the team.

Finally, LaDonna was able to reach the newly reestablished owner of the American Basketball Association (ABA) League and after an awesome conversation, both LaDonna and the owner were confident about the potential of the PG Valor Basketball Team.

There will be 3 tryouts throughout the PG County area since the County is large and widespread.

PG Valor  will provide our team the:

  • Opportunity to have knowledgeable dedicated coaches.

  • Opportunity to play high competitive levels.

  • Each players learn how to compete, be disciplined/dedicated and understand the importance of team basketball.
