The PG Valor Basketball Team's Velocity Cheerleaders are the official spirit suqad of PG County's FIRST professional sports team. There will be 20-25 spots on our squad.
No official or professional experience is required. If you are at least 21 years old, you are invitied to come and show off not only your dancing abilities but your physique and personality as well. No height or weight requirements.
Please note when representing the PG Valor Basketball team and Velocity Cheerleaders, it is crucial to be completely well rounded and carry yourself is a respectful and professional manner. What is done off the court is just as important as what is done on game day. Proper etiquette and strong professionalism are only a few necessities because of all of the public appearances that will be made throughtout the season.
Auditions are open to the public ($5 admission fee for all who are not auditioning), which will really amplify the level of intensity in the room. You will not only perform in front of a panel of judges, but also individuals who are there to watch and support.

This event will challenge semi-pro ABA and NBA D-League hopefuls. The PG Valor Basketball Team Tryouts will consist of a NBA-style pre-draft combine camp. All camp participants will take part in basketball skill tests i.e. agility, sprinting and leaping drills. During the tryouts, each participant will play in 'full court scrimmages' in front of certified ABA agents, as well as player personnel executives, current professional basketball coaches & industry scouts from the ABA and D-League level. Participants will be competing for the opportunity to secure professional contract opportunities for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The tryouts will be videotaped and video links will made available shortly after. Team executives, agents, coaches and industry scouts various basketball leagues from across the United States. TRYOUTS ARE CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
We will provide water. You will need to bring a state issued photo ID, towels, sneakers, braces, extra socks, energy bars etc.
There are no refunds for anyone who signed up and cannot attend the tryout.
We have a 15-man roster. This is an opportunity to put up statistics in a professional basketball league, and have a chance to perhaps go to the next level! Stats will be recorded and updated on the Team's out Itinerary

The all-volunteer ensemble with the goal of entertaining fans with pre-game and halftime shows and various other from the moment they walked into the gym until the time they leave to go home. Must be able to professionally site read and play by ear. Jazz, Gospel, Hip Hop, R &B, GoGo, Reggae and Reggaeton formats.

Self-Introduction – spend one minute talking about who you are and your successes in and outside of marching band. Are you employed? Do you volunteer? We want to know! You may make edits and be creative with this video!

Marching and Playing Video – Use the marching version of your instrument for this video (Example: Baritone, not Euphonium and Marching Tuba or Sousaphone, not concert Tuba). Choose any music you would like, but make sure to aim for no less than 120 bpm. Start at parade rest and snap to attention. Mark time for eight counts, march forward for eight counts, slide for eight counts, march backward for eight counts, slide for eight counts. Continue marching in this square until your music selection stops. PLEASE DO NOT MARCH/PLAY FOR MORE THAN ONE MINUTE (percussionists you will “crab” while those on winds slide)

Solo Video – Choose any music you would like. Perform, with sheet music if necessary, for NO MORE THAN TWO MINUTES. You may sit or stand, just make sure you are clearly heard. NO ACCOMPANIMENT.
Those who are accepted for round two will be asked to come in and perform before judges.
